THE STORY
Behind the boxing, the brand and the space.

IT STARTED WITH A PAIR OF GLOVES.

Boxing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

My uncle Peter lived in America and was the person who first introduced me to the sport. He sent me my first pair of boxing gloves and, when I was six or seven, I went out to California to visit him.

I remember walking into the gym and Thomas Hearns was training there.

Not a bad introduction to boxing.

What started with that first pair of gloves became years of training, competing and pretty much obsessing over the sport.

There's even a little boxing history in my name. I share my middle name with Jack Dempsey, one of the biggest names in boxing in the 1920s.

LEARNING THE CRAFT.

I worked my way through the amateur ranks before turning professional in 2018.

Boxing taught me how to move, think, react and stay disciplined. But some of the biggest lessons had nothing to do with throwing punches.

Hard work. Dedication. Resilience. Focus.

A lot of what I learned during those years would eventually become part of the foundations for Traphouse.

GOING PRO.

Turning professional was something I'd worked towards for years.Training camps. Fight nights. Hours in the gym. All of it taught me something.

But my journey through boxing and beyond hasn't always been straightforward.

There have been setbacks, changes in direction and times when I've had to start again.

Sometimes you have to take a risk on yourself, take what you've learned and build something new.

For me, that eventually became Traphouse.

2024
A NEW CHAPTER.

I'd dreamed about the idea for Traphouse long before it became a real place.

In July 2024, I finally opened the doors in Folkestone.

I wanted to take everything I'd learned through boxing, training and life and put it into something with purpose.

But I never wanted Traphouse to feel like just another gym.

The idea was always bigger than that.

MORE THAN BOXING.

Training sits at the heart of Traphouse, but I've always been interested in what happens when you bring different worlds together.

Boxing. Fitness. Art. Fashion. Culture.

Traphouse is a space where those things can cross over.

Some people walk through the doors because they want to learn how to box.

Others want to get fitter, challenge themselves or simply find a way of training they enjoy.

TODAY
THE BRAND. THE SPACE. THE MOVEMENT.

When I look at Traphouse now, I'm proud of what we've built.

Not just the physical space, but the people who've become part of it.

People walking into their first ever boxing class. People coming back week after week.

People getting stronger, learning something new and surprising themselves with what they're capable of.

We started from nothing.

Now we're building something meaningful.

And I don't think we're anywhere near finished.
